ChickenSoup Foundation - lifeline for desperate families
I paid a visit to the passionate team at ChickenSoup Foundation recently, another Charitable Choice beneficiary charity. Thanks Edward Man man for giving me a tour of your new space and the chance to speak with your service users.
Who they are
ChickenSoup Foundation is a small but impactful HK charity celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The charity works with families who are suffering from multiple hardships often beyond what the Social Welfare Department can handle.
What they do
- ChickenSoup Foundation adopts a holistic approach to helping families in crisis.
- Over 95% of their beneficiaries have emerged from crisis to experience stability and hopefulness.
- Services include trauma assessment & healing, talent empowerment, home relocation, legal services and medical treatment.
What they need
1. Lego sets (new and used) for the 1000sq ft Lego library/playroom/museum in their soon-to-open Sham Shui Po Family Club House
2. Sponsors to support new families on their waitlist - $1,800 per family member/month for one year
