Sailability - making sailing accessible to all
Introducing a new Charitable Choice beneficiary - Sailability Hong Kong! It was the perfect weather for Rowena Hoy and me to visit Kay Rawbone BEM at Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC) recently.

- Sailability Hong Kong makes sailing accessible to everyone
- Primary target groups are disabled, elderly, SEN & underprivileged youth
- Their active sailors range from 7 to 93 years old
- 37 boats (and a hoist/sling for wheelchair bound sailors) cater to different sailing levels and needs
What they do
- Offer free sailing experiences at Sai Kung
- Host Special Education Needs (SEN) students and their parents/teachers for weekday sailing excursions
- Provide learn to sail opportunities for more abled youth
- Train (mostly elderly) volunteers to sail and help run programmes
What they need
- 1 laptop for training purposes
- 20 new life jackets ($400 each)
- 6 radios to improve communication whilst sailing ($1000 each)
- Sponsor a sailor ($6000)
- Volunteers always needed - weekday or weekend
