InspiringHK Sports Foundation - levelling the playing field for disadvantaged youth

Sports is the level playing field. This is what I was reminded when I visited Judy Kong and Zoe Mau at Charitable Choice beneficiary charity InspiringHK Sports Foundation 凝動香港體育基金 recently. Established in 2012, InspiringHK Sports Foundation 凝動香港體育基金 promotes social mobility, gender equality, social inclusion and healthy lifestyle through sports. They have helped over 15,000 underprivileged children gain access to and fall in love with sport so far!

What I learned
- Only 8% of HK children reach the WHO recommendation of 1 hour of exercise every day
- Thousands of HK children cannot afford extra curricular sports
- Taking part in sports can change a child's trajectory by building their confidence, discipline, perseverance, communication and teamwork skills.

What they do
- InspiringHK Sports Foundation 凝動香港體育基金 provides professional sports training to underprivileged youth in many disciplines including fencing, hockey, lacrosse, break dance, karate
- Manage Well Dunk! The first public-estate-based basketball league and training programme
- Their signature Move 70! programme provides 70 hours of professional coaching to 544 disadvantaged primary school children each year

What they need
- Monthly donors to support more children in sports. Donate here
- Corporate sponsors for the Well Dunk public housing estate basketball league and the Move 70! programme
- Parents to encourage their children to get moving! 1 hour each day is optimal.

Please consider supporting InspiringHK Sports Foundation to get HK youth moving! Get in touch with Judy Kong, Zoe Mau or me for more information.
